Full source code, reference design and user guide enable rapid development of networking-based embedded system designs and applications. By working with a full-featured Gigabit Ethernet Media Access Controller core, students are exposed to commercially developed, pre-validated source code IP and have a working reference design as a starting point.

- E-mail Trigger IP and Reference Design
Because the IP is delivered as re-targetable source code, users of the GBE MAC/MIF IP core do not require an AMIRIX AP1000 FPGA Development Board—however, the accompanying Reference Designs and CMC User Guide do target this platform. To use with the AP1000, the Xilinx Platform Studio and ISE design tools are required.
